- Public or restricted registration-data disclosure requirements.
Availability of WHOIS or registration privacy services may depend on the domain extension, registrar, jurisdiction, and applicable rules.
12. Artificial Intelligence Services
Charter Hosting may offer software, plugins, APIs, or other functionality that uses artificial intelligence or third-party AI providers.
Information submitted to an AI-enabled feature may be transmitted to the applicable AI provider as necessary to process the customer's request.
Customers should avoid submitting confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive personal information to AI features unless such use is appropriate, necessary, and permitted by applicable law and the applicable Service terms.
Third-party AI providers may process information according to their own contractual and privacy obligations.
13. Reseller Hosting and End-User Information
13.1 Processing on Behalf of Resellers
Charter Hosting may process information relating to a reseller's end users in order to provide hosting infrastructure, account administration, security, abuse prevention, technical support, and related Services.
Where applicable, Charter Hosting processes such information on behalf of the reseller as a service provider, contractor, processor, or similar role.
13.2 Reseller Privacy Responsibilities
Resellers are responsible for:
- Providing appropriate privacy notices to their end users;
- Obtaining legally required consent;
- Responding to privacy requests when legally responsible to do so;
- Maintaining appropriate contracts with end users;

Charter Hosting does not guarantee a post-termination retention period for Customer Content.

Information may persist temporarily in backups, disaster-recovery systems, logs, or other technical systems until those systems are rotated, overwritten, or deleted in the ordinary course of business.
Charter Hosting does not guarantee a particular backup retention period.
16. Information Security
Charter Hosting uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information appropriate to the nature of the Services.
Safeguards may include:
- Encrypted network connections;
- Access controls;
- Authentication systems;
- Firewall protections;
- Malware detection;

Charter Hosting may process Customer Content on behalf of hosting customers and resellers, but does not acquire ownership of that content merely because it is hosted on Charter Hosting infrastructure.
